Tyra hadn't stopped smiling since, about to leave her father's, she had recieved a great surprise. Of course, it was nothing she could have expected. How could she ever have expected such a thing? She'd been about to leave when he'd stopped her, pulling her out of the car and confusing her. For half a second she had even believed he was going to keep her there, not let her come back to her precious stable, but he had led her into the barns smiling. There, he had told her he's been meaning to tell her all weekend that he had two new horses for her, another two year old and a recently broken yearling. As they had walked he had told her of how the two year old had performed well in prospect and recent races. Of course she had been excited and when he had taken her to see the two year old her eyes had filled with tears.
Dancing Blazes was the only offspring of Dance to Survive, a sucessful racehorse in Seattle and his father, Fire of life, hadn't been half bad either. It had been her who had originally suggested them as parents, hoping to merge their talents into one and boy, wasn't he a beauty. 16.2 hands of pure muscle, his pelt the grey of his mother but his eyes alight like his father's. Tyra had been in love with him from the day he was born but never had she imagined that he would one day be hers. Happily, she had hugged her father and he had told her they weren't finished yet.
Reluctantly, she had left her beautiful new boy to follow her father further down the stable block. He stopped outside a door of a stable she had believed to be empty and she walked over, peering in to see a beautiful filly with golden coat and flaxen mane, her eyes bright and full of spirit. Her father had explained that, through much negotiating, a nearby trainer had allowed him to breed Forgone Love with G1 horse, Pirate of the Deep and that this young filly was the result. Tyra smiled and had gone back outside to hitch up the trailer, which her brother would drive back later, but found her mother had alreayd done it for her. There was a tearful goodbye and she loaded up the horses and left.
Now she was home and she backed up so the trailer would open onto the pastures. No doubt the two new horses would wish to stretch their legs. She climbed out, closing the car door quietly and walking around to let the hotses out. The closest was Pirate's Treasure, the young yearling filly who playfully nudged her before charging into the pasture. Smiling at the filly's antics she grabbed the dark head collar which belonged to Dancing Blazes, remembering her father's warning about how his behaviour could be bad, before pulling open the gate and, keeping tight hold of him, leading him into the pasture. He seemed to be behaving well and Tyra was pleased as she walked him in a few circles, letting him off the headcollar and getting into the truck. As soon as the trailer was out of the way her brother shut the pasture gate to secure the newcomers.
"Treasure, Blaze, I'm lucky to have you. I hope you will prove to be the stars I dream of but if not worry not, I am sure you will try you best." she said in a quiet voice as she slimbed out, leaning on the fence, longingly watching her newest stars.
